Grow Some Facial Hair

If you can grow out a nice, thick mustache, now is the time to start. Mustaches look goofy on most of us, but on a fireman? The bushier the better. Now, throughout all of October, your buddies will be making a whole bunch of Hall and Oates jokes at your expense, but by the time of the party, they\’ll be wishing it was their idea when they see how much of the ladies\’ attention you happen to be hogging. You\’ll also want to start letting a one day beard grow out on the thirtieth to ensure that you look suitably rugged and very much in character in your outfit.

Develop Your New York Accent

The last thing you want is to shatter the illusion when you start talking. Remember, the only thing sexier than a fireman is a New York fireman, so watch some movies with Harvey Keitel in them. You may want to put some really New York themed movies like Mean Streets and Taxi Driver on a loop so that you can really get a feel for New York life and pass yourself off as a real New Yorker.

Soot Yourself Up!

Burn some win corks and use the soot to powder your face and suit so that you can look like you just came from the fire when you get to the party. The only thing sexier than a New York fire fighter is one who just came from a fire. It\’s all about playing the part, so don\’t let a little ash on your face bother you, you\’re a fireman, remember?
